Anchor windlass/winch

Having lived overseas for a number of years (and now returned home) I have noticed that most offshore boats there have anchor windlasses/winches. Why is it most SA boats don't have this option fitted, is it to do with the nature of our reefs?

I tried looking online locally for one for my buttcat, but I don't see anything suitable compared to the foreign ones....

We are hardcore. Make the decky pull anchor.
Our anchor hatches get water in all the time thanks to rougher seas, unlike those ponds you see in usa. Won't last very long on a small boat 28' or less. I think any way.
