Western Accessories sell the Saltist 50 for R1 500 and the Torium 30 for R1250. I don't know what the shops mentioned above sell them for.

If your heart is set on a certain reel, then go for that one cause youll be constantly thinking "well what if I had the other one" or "Im sure the other reel I wanted could have landed that fish". As red heart says" Go with your heart"

When controlling the speed of the reel when you cast, where do you keep your finger/thumb, on the line or side of reel??

On the line. If your reel is full of line there there shouldnt be too much spool exposed so controling it like that might be a problem. Personal preferance I guess.

LH: If you look carefully, there is quite a pile of line around the reel - THAT was about 20mins worth of unpicking... what you see in the picture was just before I brought out the Shears...:?

Studies have shown that if you brake your spool by applying pressure on the line itself, you're damaging the line!!

What happens to the skin on your finger when you apply pressure to the line - it burns right? The SAME THING happens to the line - it burns too and WILL get damaged. Do NOT brake your cast on the line....

As you say, Nick, its personal preferance. I personally never touch the line and get very few overruns and the few I do get are fairly easy to get out.

:swearnow that's just :puke:cry1:swearSERIOUSLY NASTY LIKE HELL, I too had my fair share of those things but the pain that goes with that overwind must have been (probably still is) so extreme that it left U numb and motionless for days on end, I know I would have felt like that.

Not even an "EISH" would've worked with that overwind, If there were prizes handed out for the worst Overwind ever U would have been awarded:first several times over, pm if we must get all the members to come and help with undoing that.....
