AmaGlug Glug Floating resturant on Roodeplaat sinks

HI All,

I got a call from Raggieman to say had I heard that the Floating resturant had sunk at Roodeplaat dam. I was a bit sceptical at first but watching the 7 Pm news it had in fact gone down and they were unsure whether or not there were any casualties.

Funny thing is that this floating resturant on the last wednesday of every month organizes a bunch of strippers for this cruise in particular. Now most of the people on board had to swim to safety through the murky green depths of Roodeplaat waters - just the thought of it gives me the heebiejeebies.........................

What were they doing "Breast stroke" LOL :ssswim:?

Another thing imagine climbing out the water all green n smelly climbing into your larney car and explaining to your wife when you got home how you managed to get into that mess..............................................

Moral of the story don't go on a "pleasure cruise" on siff green water........................................

Ryan the question is, where does the plaat have enough water for that "thing" to turn turtle?
If I had not seen it on the news too I would be more than a bit sceptical.

People on a pleasure boat that capsized on a Pretoria dam on Wednesday afternoon were "really scared" and jumped overboard and started swimming when they realised something was wrong, said a passenger.
The man said it had been a "booze cruise". He said it had taken only minutes before the boat sank.
He said: "Around 15:00 one of the passengers had realised something was wrong and called all the people on the boat, who then went to one side."
The man said he did not think there were enough lifejackets on the boat.
"I could see only eight or 10," he said.
"I was not really scared but there were a lot of okes who were really scared. Some jumped overboard and started swimming."
Two boats - one crewed by a member of the public - came and helped ferry passengers off the sinking boat to the shore.
Boat looked 'shoddy'
Tshwane emergency services (EMS) spokesperson Johan Pieterse said one passenger had a serious leg laceration and was taken to hospital.
Socks with blood on them - apparently from the man whose leg was lacerated by glass - were lying on the shore on Wednesday night.
Another man who was on board the boat said that earlier some people, on boarding the boat, had complained that it was looking "shoddy".
Rescue divers had apparently finished searching the water at the northern end of the dam, about 40m from the dam wall, just before 19:00. A rescue dog was also on scene.
"On arrival... (EMS) found 42 people ashore and they were transported back to base. The others had already gone with their various other transport," he said.
Pieterse said the people on board the two-levelled ferry - called the Pisces - were attending a function.
Pieterse said the Pisces capsized and overturned at about 14:45.
"It looks like the boat went on to rocks and the water came in due to the weight of the people on the boat. It capsized.
"It was quite a long distance from where it originally started."
He said personnel had not treated any children. "When we arrived all we could see were grown ups," said Pieterse.
Netcare 911 spokesperson Nick Dollman said two people had been transported to hospital. One of them had cut himself on glass from the boat.
The other - a paraplegic - lost a wheelchair when the boat capsized, he said.
Only drums visible
It was not immediately known what had caused the boat to capsize.
Pieterse said the boat had been on the dam "for many years". He was not sure all safety regulation measures had been in place.
"We also heard that there was only one lifejacket on the boat, which is a huge concern for us," Pieterse said.
By Wednesday evening only the drums on the underside of the boat were visible above the waterline.
An official from the Department of Water Affairs told media on the scene that they would be investigating the incident.

GUYS

What were these blokes thinking?:( Were they thinking? :crazy1and if so with which head? ::jestYeah scary :shock:as it is, thankfuly nobody got injured seriously::titanic:.

Now, thinking of the next trip there, what bait should I get, in me box to perhaps land the wheelchair and the big one, The Stripper:merm she must still be around as no where in the reports was any mention made about her whereabouts, guess it wouldn't be suitable to show her naked bod on SABC News:cens, although it wouldn't be a prob, as she'd be so green :puke anyhow that it would seem as if she was dressed in a 5mm wetsuit.......:hyst:

Ryan, that likes catchin mer-maids in that soup should be careful from now onwards as he might just hook the real McCoy.......::rofl:

You gotta love this country and the people living in it !::respekt:
