Afternoon all

I do consultant for Footloose trout farm and the owner contacted me a short while ago of a package that is on offer for a week in September and possibly in October at his Tiger fishing Lodge in Zimbabwe on the Zambezi. Dates to be confirmed.

The package consists of the following: Flights, transfers, collection from the airport and driven to the Lodge, accomodation, food, drinks and 7 days of targeting Tigers and Bream from 4 boats. 3 boats are for the fly fisherman and one for Spinning so you can choose what day and what method you want to target the fish.

Total package cost R15 000 per person.

If you are interested please PM me or contact me via email soon as flight prices may increase.

Bellow is more details:

Situated at Msuna Island on the mighty Zambezi River, just two hours from the daunting Victoria Falls.  We offer you the experience of a lifetime – the thrill of casting a fly or spinner to one of the hardest fighting freshwater fish in the world . . . The Tiger Fish.

Ngwenya Lodge caters for twelve people sharing or alternatively, for four couples in four large luxuriously furnished bedrooms - all en suite. The bedrooms are well aired with ceiling fans and are fitted with mosquito nets.  A laundry service is included in the housekeeping and your laundry will be done whilst you relax and enjoy a day’s fishing.

The entertainment area includes a poolside Lapa, equipped with an all inclusive well stocked bar, and a dining area.  The lodge is fully staffed for all your needs and all furniture and finishes are colonially styled from Rhodesian teak.  The lodge overlooks the spectacular mighty Zambezi River.

Four boats with professional guide/skippers, who manage the river fishing and help to give you the best fishing experience ever.  Thirst quenchers and snacks are part of our service on all our boats.  Expert fishing tuition is provided to beginners and river cruises and sundowner-cruises are provided for those that don’t fish and just want to take in the gorgeous surroundings

Whilst our main activity is Tiger Fishing, additional trips can be arranged to Victoria Falls. Arrangements can also be made for Bungi-jumping and river rafting as well as Game viewing trips to the nearby Hwange National Park for those who wish to get up close and personal with the Big Five.  This is all at an additional cost.

Due to the Lodge being family owned and run, our personal service is guaranteed and we look forward to hosting your party to a truly unforgettable African experience sometime in the near future.

At Ngwenya we support “Catch and Release”  In the last three years we have seen a significant growth in tiger fish numbers, partially due to the catch and release practice.  Numbers are growing year by year and stock is not being depleted.  We allow you to keep a trophy fish, but this is up to you.

You’ll depart from O.R.Thambo International on your flight from Johannesburg to Victoria Falls. Here you will be met by our friendly guides and will be transferred to the lodge by Kombi or Game vehicle.   Refreshments will be served during the trip and you will have ample time to take in the beautiful surroundings.

On arrival at the lodge finger snacks will be served at our poolside Lapa and the well stocked bar will be available whilst you relax by the pool.  The harsh African sun makes the pool a valuable asset to the lodge.

During the late afternoon fishing equipment is set up and assistance from our guides ensures that no mistakes are made.  This is usually followed by a sun-downer cruise to Little Kariba, so you can relax and build up reserves for the week’s fishing. On return dinner is served and the choice is yours as to how you want to spend the rest of the evening.

Fishing is split into two sessions.  The early morning session starts at 5h30 and lasts until about 10h30.  On arrival back at the lodge you will be served with a well deserved and satisfying brunch.  After this most people prefer a short siesta to regain their strength and get ready for the afternoon session which starts at 15h30 and lasts until sundown.

This is a picture of a trophy that was caught by the owner. They have stopped allowing trophies to be kept and they only do C&R Now. I wouldnt of posted this if they were killing the tigers. I have been speaking to the owner and they are huge on Catch and release now.
