After the SE

Last week the SE was really pumping and I was tempted to make a gooi for an elf as the guys were nailing the elf early last week. I noticed that the SE lays early Sunday morning.

Haroun picks me up at 5am, sharp ! We head towards graskoppie as that's where we've been getting some action lately at about 6 - 6:30 Haroun gets a decent optel but misses the fish !

Wasn't long before I had an enquiry, nothing major just a few dips of the rod, boskabeljoe of 44cm, quickly release it and rig up again... just land and on with another bos of 30cm !!

By now all the undersize cob know that we giving away free food and we RELEASING them !! Hulle eet verniet !

We make the tough choice to move as it looks like a school of undersize fish were at that spot...

First gooi at our new spot sees my reel go zzzzzzz zzzzzzzzz zzzzzzz !!!!

Gives a very good fight, land the fish after a brief tug-o-war, nice fish of 6Kg ! 86cm ! Haroun joins me on that gaaitjie and is rewarded with a 3.5Kg Cob !

Decide to take my last cast at 9:30am and I was rewarded with another 54cm Cobbie !!

The fish seem to be giving a very good fight seeing that the water's "cooling" somewhat, can't wait for the next mission !!

Maasbanker I now know how you look, I printed this pic I'm gonna spend the rest of my fishing time looking for you and if I spot you I'm gonna know where your gaatjies is hahahahahaha Dan is jy weg is Dan van ek hulle, lol

HEHEHE! YS, that's no secret spot, those "gaaitjies" are no more than 40m in the water !! Although you have to walk to get to the spots, that's why I love fishing those secluded areas, plenty of spots to choose from and no crowds!

PS: Whatever you do, don't fish alone !!

Looks like things are finally coming together... my brother-in-law (noob) was quering why I was releasing fish in the 44cm range and I simply told him, "You'll see why later !" 

I'm glad that he now sees the importance of releasing undersize fish ... let them grow beeega !:fst:

Hi maasbanker and fellow sealiners, I've been reading so much and getting such alot of good info, unfortunately it confusess me most times
Lol, my question is thou, the weather forecast shows, Monday SW, Tuesday SE, Wednesday SW, and for the rest of the week it will be SE, are you guys suggesting I don't fish until next week, there's no way I can go without fishing for a week. Took my girlfriend with fishing yesterday, everytime i reeled in she basically jumped up of excitement only to see its a bamboo, I even let her reel in one bamboo shame see really thought it was a fish shhhhhhhhh, think she was the badluck, but she gave me off next weekend to fish as she's also starting to feel sorry for me, lol hahaha, had lots of fun thou, also realized fishing makes a woman more excited than any man can.
