Rrrrright... So there is a farm in my girlfriends family 20km before belfast. The farm has 11 dams filled with only bass and some of them florida strain...

Her family are bass and fly fishing fanatics... Me, well im more the bait kind of guy...

Its not fun when your girlfriend kicks your ass at fishin, any fishing, so i need advice at what my strategy must be and maybe 5 or 10 must have lures/plastics/spinners etc to try ...

For the record... im leading 3-2 ito weekends won, and are only in the lead as the one win is because one weekend we fished for the biggest fish... Here is a few pics...

All dams have reeds and water grass and lilly pads and also deep clear water...

I have fished a lot of farm dams and always had good success with a 1/4 ounce chartreuse and black colorado blade spinnerbait.

Then, a zoom finesse worm in bullfrog or key lime pie.

Zoom fat albert twin tail grub in white (dont ask why - it just works for me)

Zoom baby bass and bullfrog flavoured super flukes

Storm chug bug (the little one) in silver and also gold colours.

On windy days - a 1/4 ounce red skirted buzzbait

Sometimes the best fishing skills in the world are no match for the guy (Or in this case rather attractive young lady) who knows the dam.

In the lillies I'd try a surface frog. In farm dams I also like to fish an old fashioned floating rapala minnow slowly along the edge of grasslines. Just wait for that big, fat old momma to gently suck it in.
