Howzit Guys

Please can you guys tell me what I am doing wrong, I have been fishing at Wilson's Wharf for the past two weekends and have been using cracker for bait. The problem is that I cannot seem to get the bait to stay on my hook, everytime that I reel in my line, my bait is gone. Can someone please tell me the correct way to rig cracker bait.

Thanks in advance guys.

PS: I have a a general bait licence and we pump our own cracker.

sup iceman..

you did not mention using cotton to keep bait on hook.. not sure if there are different methods of rigging cracker but how i have always done it without losing too much bait is simply..
  • take cracker and rig hook starting from the tail section and continue rigging through body and ending through the head[/*]
  • if you have extra cracker to spare then lay another cracker on top of cracker rigged through hook or belly sections against one another and backs on opposite side of each other and then using cotton bind the two together[/*]
  • can also add a third for a bigger bait and if there are small fish around stripping your hook of bait then you can leave bait in a bit longer with extra cracker on[/*]
  • if you dont have much cracker to spare then use one only and rig as above but end by having head of cracker by tail section and adding cotton which will leave most of the mid-section of cracker exposed which has most of the juices in cracker and will also catch you fish and if cotton is used dont easily come off.
    [/*]
  •  if you using more than one cracker tie cotton on tight which will make pincers and head stand out more and look more enticing to a fish[/*]
  • this method of rigging cracker is called a knoes in certain sections here lol.. hope it helps.
