Haven't been there in a while but usually plenty of boats in that area, nice grassy venue with lot of shade. The usual stuff works there - whole dead bird/mouse/day old chick/chicken livers and obviously a platanna. Take your bass rod along as well - hear they are on the bite. Please let us know if anything comes out.
Hi Slamslast i heard that resort whent to the dogs. it was dirty & always full. oh & expensive.
can you tell me about the rates & camping, is it safe.
Hi NobblesWell done dave. Great to get some fish under the belt. Dont get to frustrated when you blank, i look at it as an oppertunity to understand more about what im doing. If you blank there is a reason as why. Fihure out that reason and slowly but surely you blank less and less.
How far out where your baits, and at what depth? It could be that when the boats cam past they disturebed the silt at the bottom. This may have made your bait visble and easier for the fish to pick up. So if you where in shallowish water the fish may have been on your bait the whole day, but only had access to it when the baots kicked up the silt. I may be wrong but is interesting to try figure out why those fish bit after the boat came pst.

Thanx for the feedback. Once I went to Abramsrust & the only thing working that day was brown bread, with a touch of beer; Im guessing it wouldve worked even better had I known about the curry brown-bread recipe that time. Im glad the river in that neck of the woods is producing some results again, I've had a bit of bad luck there & further down for a while; & that considering the weather was fluctuating throughout the day yesterday. Good on you with all the catches. Did you try earthworms or stronger flavours besides sweet?
Supadave - if you want to catch big snorre you should go to Schoemansdrift. It's a very nice place to catch yellows on fly as well. It's not a "venue" - so no toilets/braai etc. We saw barbel there trying to swallow a large whole dead yellow.
Hey Supadave - how was that wild waters?
Catch anything?
We went to the caravan park here and just got caught in the rain - couple of very small carp came out - very very quiet.
Cheers
