760 (25ft) Butt Cat Gamefisher

Hi Guys,

I'm not going to say a lot in this topic. I think the photos will speak for them self. After selling off our old 26ft Butt cat at the end of the previous tuna season, we decided it's time for a new Butt. After a lot of consultation and weighing up the pros and cons of each hull size we decided on the 760 Butt cat with a 685 cabin. The smaller cabin allowed for even more walk around space and opening up more fishing space next to the cabin. Our boat is nearing completion and so far we're as happy as can be. The service from Kamassi Craft has been outstanding. We've been dealing more with Len and he keeps us posted on the progress of the boat on regular intervals. Apologies to the guys with limited bandwidth. We still need a name for the boat so any recommendations are welcome! Happy viewing!

saw your boat today, wow. it is really lekka, i like the way you have your fish hatch close to your cabin so that crew can sit against it and still have the protection. len was excited to show me around the boat, they really get interested in the boats they are building and that is so lekka, they love your boat while they are putting it together.

enjoy fishing on that insane boat!!

The guys at Kamassi really are a bunch of nice/professional people. I've been hassling them on a regular basis to find out the progress, change something or just chat about the boat. @Gumboot, did you perhaps take a couple of photos of the boat, I haven't seen any progress photos for more than a week. Otherwise I'll ask Len to send some.

No problem. I haven't seen the boat since the deck went on. I've heard that putting on the 685's cabin instead of the 760's cabin opened up a lot of fishing space around the cabin so instead of having a walkaround, it's now a fisharound. In another 3 weeks we're hoping to take delivery of the boat. I'll update with photos when I receive new ones!

PS, any one want to buy a pair of 115hp 4 strokes...looking to sell them to buy 140s or 150s.

What is the hours and price for the 115's? Where are they?

The motors are already at Kamassi Craft. My plan is to fit them if I don't find I buyer in the next week or so. They have around 250 hours on the clock. Price....asking R110k, but very negotiable. There is nothing wrong with the motors, just really want to fit BIG motors for pushing a lot of tuna weight on the new boat!

Greenhorn, if you upgrade go 150! tested 140 and was okay, these new butts seem to be quite a bit heavier than the older ones.. My dad is putting 150's on his 760, ours in now in the mold, we going with 760 cabin and slightly shorter tuna box but same layout as the one you putting on,

cant wait to see yours finished, these are gonna be the longest 3 weeks of your life!!!!!!

140's only had 8 hours on them and think prop was not right so i found them okay... All the okes i have chatted too say if the boat can handle the weight go 150.

Just something to look at. I am going to put my Butt on a mooring, Kamassi does not put any strengthening in the gunnels to fit cleats for the mooring ropes, so if you planning to do the same, have them add it. Also the Butt I am buying has no drains in the anchor hatches, maybe something they forgot.

Thanks for the heads up. I did ask them to put extra strengthening in for the mooring cleats. Where are you mooring? Simonstown?
