Hey

I'm new to bass fishing (a month now) and bought a diawa rod and reel combo(spinner). it works great but i'm looking to get a bait caster now. I've heard fenwick makes great rods and someone recomended a hmg. Any comments on it? Any other top quality rods?

I'm looking at a shimano reel, also looking for suggestions...

If these are too pricey then just go down the shimano range of rods and reels till you find an affordable combination.
I'd stick with Shimano though.

Of course there are G Loomis rods R1200 - R3000 and Shimano Calais reels R4500 - R5000 but thats like R6000 a combo .... you can buy 4 decent combo's for that money.

If you want my honest opinion i would suggest that you keep on fishing and trying it out for a couple of months with your current equipement before spending allot of money on bassing equipement.

 

It might just happen that you loose your interest in fishing in months to come.

Just my opinion tho.

100% the only thing you got that is 7kg+ is prob the bull you speak for the most part, we been friends for a long time and with anything he starts he takes it to the max, so excuse my retarded friend.

Sorry about the spam, I'm new to this blog thing too, and was acting on the (ill) guidance of my long time pal, buddy. But thanks for the advice.

I managed to pick up two brand new Quantum Affinity rods for R170 each. They worth about R450-R550 from what i've been told. Anyone know anything about that brand?
