20/40 shimano for sliding?

One of the best star drag reels EVER built.

Have 3 but don't use them so much anymore, on the coffees lately.

They are perfectly capable, but line capacity is the concern.

I use mine to slide and never had a problem! I obviously don't slide rugby ball size baits but thats more me being afraid then anything else. I filled mine with 450m 50lb braid and 220m of kfga .5mm and my feeling is that if a big enough fish picks it up and spools me it deserves to be free, with my million buck worth of line and traces!! The biggest I got on the rig was a sand shark of 1,9m and the drag stayed smooth through the hole fight.

the 20/40 is hard as nails, i have landed hundreds of Longfin tuna and a few yellowfin on them..... i recon they are the Toyota landcruiser of reels!!

i currentlu use my toriums 30 for sliding..but hooked some nice raggies on casting baits with my 20/40 and the reel will allways be 100%...just wish shimano made a bigger version than the 15/30 and the 20/40..cause for the price they are dynamite..
