2 in a row

Went to one of the JHB city dams (Golden Harvest) that I fish from time to time for a family outing last weekend. Managed to slip in some fishing and landed this 800g bass on a weightless rigged fluke.

The image of a small school of bass under the trees haunted me all of last week, so on Saturday afternoon I returned for an impromptu session and landed this 910g bass, with the exact same lure.

Can't wait for the worst cold to subside and the fish to re-awaken.

Cheers

Maybe, I think the bass are still hugely outnumbered by the carp and barbel.

I think that the hook-and-cook/subsistence guys have also removed quite a number of bass last spring and summer.

Fishing still tough as you really need to work hard to outsmart them.

Cheers

i went there on friday 31 august 2013
literally for 15min...first time ive fished here

i managed to lose 2 and landed one.....all in the same spot. maybe still early for them to be in the shallows????

i really wanted to fish the island, but not sure if its deep enough around there at the moment

any recent update on this spot? has anyone pulled out anything over a kilo recently?
