Thanks shag, see on here the sharks board board use them, not sure if they the newer ones or older model.

Does anyone know hull weight of a 87 f/c? Heavy = bad economy.
heavy = safer? The Acecraft, Kei, Levi, etc, many well rated boats mentioned on here are all heavier type boat.

Anyone know if the evinrude 115 v4 _+ 1987 is very thirsty? have any problems, seen a few negative comments on the newer ones with EFI FICHT injection

Thanks Barry

HI Barry, as far as I know the parks board only use the acecraft hulls, which are mono's. They are however being built in the z-craft factory, by Peter Motzouris specifically and only for the parks board.

as far as the invader is concern the 19 was a very comfortable boat being that it was heavy made for a good ride and very stable, however the boat "The Rebel" which I fished on was a 19ft powered by 2 yamaha 90's two strokes and she used to use around 150 ltrs of fuel a day on a marlin trip out of Richards bay, which was a very similar consumption as my old acecraft.

hi barry those motors would be a problem for me dont be fooled that they are any thing like the new evenrudes. Rather dump the motors and look for a new/er pair

Hi guys, thanks for comments. Am in 2 minds as the boat is on mooring, does not have trailer, which I will have to arrange.

The evinrude motors I do not know if they have fresh water flush ports, so possible did not get flushed often. Though from research, there are very good comments on the v4 motors, lotsa guys very happy with them, from 1999 onwards the evinrudes seem to have some problems, think this is before the newer generation units.

The boat is at good price, is still moored, thus floats has seaworthy and buoyancy, looks in good nic for age, and taking into account that all I can get for the same money is a old 16ft ski craft with 80's 40hp yammines, does not seem bad deal.

Looking at used motors on gumtree/etc may be able 2 on sell motors and recover most of purchase price.

Would the boat be too heavy to tow with 4l v6 4x4 ford?

Thanks again for any comments / info

your bakkie should have the towing capability, its just wont be legal due to the towing laws...its a bit of an issue currently.

They are using Invader cats here in Durban with Yamaha 100 4's I think??

Thanks for all the info, want to check not making mistake with too heavy a boat / too old motors etc. 16ft was too small, 19 - 21 would be fine. but bigger = heavier no way round this. except mayby with a butt 21.

So about 2tons? for a invader with motors, If I go this route, think may just anti foul and put it on a mooring.

Any one know how a baronet does in the salt? seem to be quite a few around, that look reasonable. Struggling to find a old 21 butt hull to redo and want to get something for the meantime before cray season / holidays and the ytail disappear. I.e would you run millers / the point / rock bank in a 17ft baronet with a wet deck? think will put separate post for baronet, be interested to get opinions on this?

I think the Supercat is also a light hull around the same weight of the Butt.

Hey Fedu,

looking for cheapie in between as I will do a butt 21 even if I have to slowly get a new hull, the used super cats are still quite expensive, and do not want to tie too much cash up if the right butt becomes available, I am chasing one or two, but always seems some issue, the right one will come along, tho need to fish in the meantime.
