You must know what you are doing, the hull must be a good sea-going hull and the sea must be right..That said, my skipper used to catch more fish off his old 14ft kei marine skiff and 30hp than most of the fleet combined..No hatches on board, we'd be shoving big fish in wherever they would fit to keep them out of the sun..haha had great times on that craft, but travelling into a big chop or with following wind was no joke, my back still feels the pain from when that craft used to fall into holes.
Now we mainly fish off a 15,5 skicraft cat with 2 40's and it is much more pleasurable, spacious and comfortable traveling on a big sea. Fuel costs are still low although the skiff would run off fumes!
