Port Alfred Fishing

Good morning all, new to posting on the forum but have gained some valuable tips over time from here.
Some advice is needed for a trip we have planned at the end of April for a week in Port Alfred. We are fairly familiar with the area but would like some input on what to target around that time of year and which spots would be recommended. We would like to target some edibles but anything overall as it's just about some time along the coast.
We are there over the new moon so tips on which spots at which tides would be great.
Beaches we would mostly be frequenting would be Begha, Klienemonde, Riet river, Port Alfred, Kasouga and Kenton.
We are stay right on the beach at Saltvlei so we can access that beach easily by foot early mornings and late evenings as well.

Tackle we have at our disposal is:
12ft 2-4oz Loomis Shad pro
11ft 1-3oz Loomis gully pro
10ft 1-2oz Okuma rock ranger
Couple of 7fts for lighter tackle stuff.
We would also like to do some paddle tails for kob etc as well as general bait scratching.

Any advice on where to fish and when would be amazing! We have a week there and it will likely be a long while before we can get back there again so want to try maximise our trip as much as possible.

Dear Sean. I do not know the Port Alfred area that well, but I fish Hamburg and Begha quite often.
We are slowly but surely running out of summer months, but April is still good for Raggies

Do yourself a big favour. Go to your closest petshop and buy yourself a calibrated thermometer.
If you get 2-3 days of east wind the water temp drops to about 16-17degrees, which is very good conditions for Raggies.
Kob and sandsharks like a water temp of 17-18 in the Cickei
The moment you hit 19-20deg it is best to go and target bluefish. and shad

For raggies, a fresh mullet head is deadly and if you can throw a net they are free.
Live mullet for kob, or a nice chokka bait on a dangle

Blue fish, a mixture of pinkprawn and sandprawn work very well

Awesome thanks Bamboes-vis, the water temp info really helps alot! Love Begha, we lived near Peddie for a while on a game farm and regularly spent time at Begha and the sisters at RietRiver.. Never got the chance to get down to Hamburg though.
Not sure we aiming to target any larger sharks with the tackle we have but we just happy to get a fish on the line...
