I put the circle through the bottom lip and head.

Where I fish on the river there are a lot of bass,hence bass works well as they are the cats natural food source. They are also relatively easy to catch , just put on a little rapala and you are good to go.

If there are a lot of grassies in the area I will switch to grassies etc eg Bloemhof .

Antjar has it bang on. This is where scouting your water is essential. Use the most abundant stock fish in the water. That's what mr whiskers eats every day. Carp work well inland as that's the most plentiful. But again the cat is going to take anything that has a good protein content. Again why fish workd well as bait.
