Hundreds of dead fish have been found in the waterways around Marina da Gama.Residents are now unhappy with the situation and the authorities and Cape Nature.
Marina da Gama ,near Muizenberg is surrounded by water channels of the Zandvlei Estuary Nature Reserve.Residents say this is the worst they have seen it.The water is now a reddish brown colour, the excuse again oxygen depletion in the water was the cause

Does the cutting of the weed in the canals have anything to do with it?

The weed puts oxygen into the water, cut it a a lot sinks to the bottom and rots, which would in turn would deplete oxygen levels.
