Your carp traces

jsut wanted to ask what taces you use for carp fishing that have produced good results for you

I also prefer the sliding rietvlei trace, during periods with alot of wind I will move over to a vaaldam trace with a P4 or 5 to get that extra distance in my cast.

Rietvlei sliding. If I get stuck I will remove the top hook. I started off using babyshoe traces, but found that a lot of fish got double hooked or I got stuck more often.

If I want to go a bit deeper I Use a M1.5 weight and then hook my hooks into the bomb when casting. This gives a nice streamlined mass off boms and hooks/bait.

I agree with all the other okes on the sliding rietvlei.

Sliding Rietvlei:
My standard traces are 22 - 25 cm in lenght with hooklinks of 12 cm.
When I fish muddier areas I will increase the hooklenght up to 16cm and the total trace lenght to 28cm. I use springs for my rigs.

Boerstrop:
I never caught a lot of fish on the Boerstrop, but I must add that my rigs wasnt build correctly.
