Use a two fly rig. Tie on a weighted caddis first (sizes 8 to 12, say) - preferably one with a bit of orange in it. Then tie on about 50cm of tippet (4x is good) to the bend of the caddis & add an unweighted mayfly nymph (size 12- 16, say) to this. Use a strike indicator (a bit of yarn soaked in floatant is what most guys use) about 1.5X the depth of the water up the line. THis is usually a good place to start. Well, it works for me.

ive had some luck on mustard caddis, goldrib hairs ear, and green rock worm at elgro river lodge.

just want to know from all you guys, when is the best time to catch yellows at a place like Elgro? i want to go again and hoping the fishing is spot on. also cant remember what time of year it was when i went(was for business and ended up fishing a bit) and when do you feel is a good time for yellows in the orange river in Richtersveld? want to go there again to, was there 3 years ago october and caught nothing.

svenm, you must put a fixed organge flinty on the end, prefably 6lb floro, and if that doesnt work, put on a extended pipi drol! works like a bomb!

Howzeet choma... better not be planning a trip to algro without me... im going to chat to you about namibia soon....
