Yellow Fin Tuna

I'm coming over to Cape Town on holiday (mid Feb to first week in March) this year and was wondering if the Yellow Fin Tuna will still be off the Cape??

The intent is to get out an potentially spear one or two of the beasts!!!

Had some experience with spearing some Blue Fin Tuna and smaller YFT in Australia and look forward to getting a large YFT.

Welcome to Sealine mate... the best person to get hold of is "miles" on this site,... he is the man to talk to about spearing Yellowfin here in the Cape...

Hi Tony,

Theoretically the tuna arrive in September/October, disappear over the height of the summer in December and Jan and then come back in Feb until May (roughly).  So your timing should be good.

I feel a lot happier about the timing, only my daughters wedding that has me coming to Cape Town that time of the year.

Well only a few weeks away and hopefully the weather gods are good to me.

I hope to enjoy the good old South African hospitality and the cold beer....
