I've been thinking of adding a small "fold-away" stainless steel hook/clip to the bottom of the hook hood so that the bottom hook hood can be secured to an eye on the rod for exactly the reason that you mentioned. Since the hook hoods fit very tightly over the treble hooks it should work.

Do I undertsand you correctly?

Please let me know when you are in Durbs again so I can give you a few of these for field testing (if you like)

I could not wait to get home from work to try this:

As you can see, I cut a notch in one of the flanges of the hood. (Pic 1)

The notch is then hooked onto an eye on the rod. (Pic 2)

Because the line is taught, the hood is pulled skew and this prevents the hook from sliding out of the hood.

If this works in field tests I would be very pleased because I then only need to amend the moulds in stead of adding another operation to the manufacture.

I would appreciate it if you could test this for me and I will have a bunch ready for you by Monday.
