S-Good 219cm .....bait dropped....hound shark head wrapped with shark liver, total weight around 4kg....and the other rod had hound fillet of about 3kg on....20/0 circle on 4m 440lbs steel trace connected to 2mm windon with 3/0 power swivel.... both baits each accounted for 2 fish

I was just thinking wrt the wind always in the wrong direction. These sport kites can fly almost in any direction than right into the wind, same a sailboats.
Now if one can make a kite that can sail to wind only 90 deg, (why not ?) it should be almost perfect. There may be a bit of aerodynamics involved but a lot of people cannot cast 200m with a 1 or 2 kg bait. I can't for sure.
I'll phone a friend, LOL, find out how easy it's going to be.

Get to know the lay of the land and you'll soon find areas where the wind will be good to fly, at least 1 day a week.
The windsong square kite is uncomplicated, cheap (R140) can tack 45 degrees and can be adjusted to pull of fly high.
Keep it simple and grab every opportunity to get a line out deep.
Macassar with a NW and you can drop a rig with 4 chokka and sard mixed grill baits off 100m behind the backline and even with a NW you'll get great kob

I think such a kite may have to have a front and a rear (ie hollow) and function like a wing that has lift, only now the lift has to be in another direction from downwind. Keep in mind it's not air pressure that flies planes and boats and kites, it's vacuum. The trick may be to have such a kite fly on a single line.

One must remember that using the square kite and flying it downwind you get max power allowing for the use of such big baits or to fly a bait above the suref to get it over the backline.
Areas like PE give the advantage with the big bays and points that when an NE blows then one beach / point can be used and when a W blows then a different one can be used.
The more you tack and fly into a wind the less the ability of your kite to tow or lift a big bait.

Well, you're right, the PE chaps have their butts in the butter so to speak.
The rest of us sit with winds going down the shore following the coastal contour at 90 degrees exactly. Or simply no wind, you can throw the kite further than it would fly.
One thing that counts in our favour is the bait weighs less in the water than out, which is also a good thing if the kite doesn't remain still, the poor action the kite gives it says to any shark 'eat me'.
I'll ask some guys on another forum that deals with weird things. Lets see what gives. 'It cannot be done' doesn't fit into my frame of reference, we just don't see it yet.

Now that I have these kites they go with everywhere and if the opportunity presents itself I send the biggest meanest bait out to sea with it.
