Were off to Malongane at the end of this week for our annual "boys week" fishing trip. Any members been fishing there over the Xmas period and can comment on fishing quality?

Hi, yes I spent December there, fishing is slow but not too bad, my routine was to catch livies off Ponto bay (the only place i could get decent mackerel), then head for pinnacles all along the outside ledge of the reefs (about 45m contour), drag up and down pinnacles with rappala, cona, feathers for an hour or two, then head for boa vida, stop in 25-30m of water, rig the livies at different depths with different size sinkers and target the cuta at an ultra slow trawl speed.

I launched and beached at Ponto as it was the easiest and most convenient, i also left my jetski there overnight.

Look out for BOZO ALZU fishing charters, they have two boats that go out every day, speak to the skippers and do what they do.

Good luck

Thanks for the reply. Never heard of Boa Vida in the 12 years I have been fishing at Malongane. Is it North of pinnacles towards Techobanine?
