Good day

Would like get your opinion on how the weather influences fishing, sudden weather changes, air pressure, winds ect...

Thank you...

What ive learned this year is always face the wind make sure you know what banks to fish wind make water warm so you can go even sweeter and with the wind fish you caught will give you better fight and you can use Davis vaal dam Barrow meter will help u on when fish will be hot or not... Hope this helps

This is a really interesting topic, lets try and revive this thread, with regard to wind its said that wind into you is good and wind away requires deeper fishing, I just found wind itself is generally a good thing as long as you using the lowest diameter line possible for the venue... but what about air pressure ? Many weather maps now give us an accurate reading on the days air pressure by the hour, how do fish behave in different pressures ?

I have also found that in winter Fish do not eat if you casting flat taps was at comp were 70 of the pro mania guys blanked and only people who got fish was the guys throwing 20 matters it's really weird to fish in winter...

They do feed, carp metabolism slows down in winter , its all to conserve energy.. im not a pro but from what I do understand they would consume much easier digestive food again all in conservation of energy so bigger baits and harder baits would be less looked at ... ive already blanked twice this winter and it is not a good feeling ... guys say stronger dips tend to work in winter but ive noticed a better catch rate using lighter traces, smaller hooks and stuff and also I kinda use smaller amounts of dip. I feel they're spooked much easier in winter.

We took the approach to plain feed with
With shallow water and we got the fish on the bite again for some reason if I put dips my tempo slows down but in afternoon loti works fantastic we had bad winter for comp fishing as for the size of the bait presentation I keep my normal if you go to fine it's hard to hook fish up on a back bite...

Last week I fished a dam called nahoon down here in east London and I fished a hard small feed bol, bites where really slow between 1h30 mins to 2 hours lol managed to get 3 fish and all where caught at around 130m. My shallow rod sat still. Places differ but thats the fun of carp ::hapmad today we know them tomorrow they strangers lol .. ive been having a lot of action on perdeby and quattro here also banjo and kiana which I spray some rose over ... working really well for me ... fished the same two combos up in kzn 2weeks back and it worked well there too where I picked up a nice 3.7 with the rest beween 1.5 and 2

All plain white hard floaties with swd ... when I fish the banjo and kiana with rose I give the swd a tiny squirt of rose once on the hook
