We had a bad fishing week at St. Lucia & Vidal (31 Jul to 7 Aug).
Between 18 anglers, only 6 extremely small fish were hooked during the 7 days. Lots and lots of seagrass (?) on the lines. Very disappointing.
The only day that we had nice weather, all the Charter Boats were either booked or way too expensive. Some guys were charging R3500 to R4500 to take 4 anglers out, others R650 / angler. It's getting rough these days...
Anyways, we still enjoyed being down there and learned some new drinking games!
Suppose the fish were doing the same - hanging out with their buddies at the Pool Bar.
Bought some Geelbek (Thursday evening late from a local who does Commercial fishing at night) for R65/kg, so at least there is some fresh fish in Rustenburg at the moment.
Will try harder next time.
