Warning to ski boaters wanting to launch from Tinley Manor

For years I've had the fallacy that ski-boaters were cut from the same yarn.
Unfortunately Umhlali Ski Boat Commodore thinks not like us.
The club uses a tractor probably sponsored by Tongaat and under no circumstances may any visitors use this machine.

Rob and his teams happily go to the various inter club comps etc etc and make full use of the amenities on hand ( I've personally skippered them on a few occasions)
Our tractors at DSBC is available to any visitor once fees are paid.
We have no bullsh$$t about public liabilities or preferences to members.

I think we should bar any representation from Umhlali from all comps.
Perhaps they need a more ski-boater type of commodore that is'nt so full of s$$t

Umhlali can forget my support in future.

Take heed all skippers

This has come up here before in the past, unless things have changed (I've not been there for years) Tinly Manor ski boat club does not have a Club tractor, the tractors that are parked there belong to private individuals and as such are not available to the public.
Tongaat have been trying to kick them off the premises for years I don't they'll be sponsoring tractors anytime soon.

They dont allow anyone to even peep at the launch site. You are told very harshly to reverse back up the gravel one way road at the entrance. As per law no launch site can turn visitors away and wat they are doing is very bad. This site needs to be closed. Its nowonder the Parks Board are camped there. I get the feeling they want a secluded launch site to themselves. They will need help one day.

I had the same unfortunate experience not too long ago. As a newbie to the sport and off shore fishing I am always on the search for new launch sites to use on the north and south coast of Durban. Maybe if everyone works together in this community it would be easier for us to explore our beautiful coast line and promote our sport.

Very sad. (t(do(wn)
