Thanks Barry, but this oke took me for a bit of a ride as recent as yesterday. I arranged with him on Monday that I was taking the boat and on confirmation from him proceeded to sell my boat. Went home early from work and took motors, controls etc off my boat and the new owner took the boat. Spoke to this oke again the evening and he asked for one day to clean the boat and sort the leaf springs. I was going to travel to Pretoria through the night tonight and when I phoned this afternoon to confirm I got a long story, but bottom line is that boat is not available any more and I am sitting without a boat and the Geelbek is biting. This guy advertises on Gumtree, Junkmail etc. on a regular basis, but if this is the way he conducts business ?

Sorry to hear skidaddle. think you going to struggle have not seen many of those hulls around. looks like a nice boat.

I have seen this boat.
He did you a favour by screwing you around.
It needs SERIOUS work to make it OK. You would have missed this entire season

Good luck with the rest of you quest. Me I am looking for a
Witblitz 430/Gamefish 430/ Supercat 430 or T Cat 440 --All same boat take your pick . This mould has had more fathers than a litter of pigs ( but its a great little boat)

The Witblitz 430 & Gamefish 430 are not the same hull, I would take a Gamefish/Tomcat long before a Witblitz, put them side by side into a moderate chop and you will see the differance!

Hi

A buddy of mine owns one. It is a 15ft 6 Centre console with 50HP trim and tilt Merc's on it. He's looking at around R100k. Will PM you his details.

Correct me if I am wrong here !.
I understood the evolution of this hull was.
First made by Supercat in Port Alfred, Moulds then sold to
A&G Marine who still called it the Witblitz 430 . Moulds then sold to Richard and Gail in Mtunzini they sold it as the Gamefish 430. It was also retailed by Peters in Durban as the Ocean Cat 430.
Tomcat have now got the moulds and are doing it as the T-cat 440.
I tested a Gamefish 430 from Richard a while back and was impressed with it, small, light, agile and nice deck layout, but with 2 x 30'2 on felt it was a little underpowered ( we in the Highveld smaak power man !). But have not compared the Witblitz to the T-Cat. I have met a guy up here who has a pair of Honda 50's on a Gamefish and he is very happy with it.
I presently have a 530 Sportsman ( Supreme Craft) with 2 x 90 E-tech an and am very happy with it, but am looking from something smaller.
I am very fussy about looking after my kit and therefore always have a hard time buying secondhand.

Anyway, that's what i have figured out , but could be wrong.
The Wildcat is a different boat altogether.

Possibly the same moulds but have been changed a lot(just compare pics of them), I was in contact with Gail and Richard just before they gave the moulds to Dave and came (sort of) close to getting one, it was also called the Alley Cat. I have skippered a Witblitz in Mozambique and would not want one, in fact I would much rather have a 14'6" SkiVee or my current Raider146 which is even better.

I am also puzzeling about getting a small cat, looking at the Seacat465 and Tomcat 440 with 40's or even possibly a new Raider, you can get a brand new 146 Raider with 2x 30's for R115k!! - possibly the best value for money boat on the market?

The Seacat works out to about R210k and the Tomcat is about R180k. Maybe I win the Lotto and get the Seacat??

Ja boet, I saw it.......timing, just timing, even thought of borrowing the money but it's not the way I like to do things, I have something in the pipeline + my boat so we will see, it has to be smallish for various reasons so will possibly be one of the above?

those 55hp are old stock 35K each and NO trim and tilt, not such a bargain, no safety kit, no electronics etc

Thank you to everyone that responded, found a Wild Cat much closer to home on Thursday and did a good deal. In good condition with some nice extras, ready to go to sea.

Its still at least 45k cheaper than if you went to a dealer, for a brand new boat, 45k is a huge saving in anyones book, you don't get safety or electronics when you get a new boat anyway, guys are asking the same or more for 3-6 year old similar boats.

If I had 145k I would jump at it, add safety R4k, Radio R2k and R6k for a decent finder/sounder and you are fishing for under 160k!!
