Vasfontein

Decided at the last minute to do a 2 hour trip to Vasfontein while my wife was at the shops. And what a trip. Got a couple (5) of small fish on soft plastic but then decided to Crank and hooked on to this 1.63Kg puppy. Must say guys remember that it is winter and don’t be afraid to use cranks right in the structure. Fish are suspending right against and in the structure.

Thanks. Also went to some other place in the cold wind today and got two of just under 1KG. Enjoying the bank fishing wile i can LMAO

Nice going there Johanvc, couldn't get to water this weekend myself.  Sat was spent taking the Kid to Western Accesories and the Boss to Fourways, and Sunday I couldv'e gone but believe it or not THE STRIKE even affected our fishing, SAD BUT TRUE.

The Roodeplaat Nature Reserve's personel's still on strike and hence the Reserve is closed until further notice, so no hunting.......:swear:swear:swear

LGF i tried phoning you on Saturday to find out if you wanted to join us yesterday. Went to a little private spot that has some really nice fish. Got a bit bored on my own but still got 2 fish of just under a KG in under an hour and left. Will take you some time when the temp picks up again. As the water temp was way down yesterday and the wind was howling big time.

Thanx Johanvc

I would've liked to go with, but perhaps it was better that I didn't as I could s[end some time with the boss so that I can start building up credits to go hunting U C.

Going to have a look at the boat probably this afternoon, my bud's very sick, but he promised to get outta bed and take me to go see the boat.  I'm getting a tow, bull and roll bar fitted today and perhaps if the boat is in a "I'll Take IT" condition then, I can just as wel hook it to the rear of the Cruiser and off I go, then the only thing is I'll have to call in sick for the rest of the week and go hunting somewhere, but will still see this afternoon.....

Sounds good. But rather have a couple of tests done before you buy it like compression test on the motor and a leak test. You don’t want to spend loads of money and end up paying more than what it would have cost you. My boat should be ready by mid next week. But I am in No hurry. Water temps are really down and fishing will be extremely bad. With the cold fronts heading our way.

Thanks for the advice, will check these things out, are there any other things to check out for.  Perhaps you'll have a better disposition once I got some more info on the boat and it's features, condition, age and the likes....

Anyhow, your Baby looks GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODDDDDDDD!!!!!!

The main think is Motor. If she gives a good compression test then you know the motor is perfect. I would also recommend taking her out for a test drive to ensure the gearbox is 100% then you can see if see leaks.
Thanks. There are still loads to do on my boat. But like I said I am in NO hurry with my boat. I have her now so the rest can be done correct instead of rushing the job and it look crap

Thanks Guys

I shoulda taken the camera with this morning but because the Cruiser's in for a BUTCH makeover (will post before and Be-After pics later) I couldn't take it with to take pics of the boat later today, will 1st have a look before I decide to buy her..... will see this afternoon, thanks for the advice and the help offered, I'll make use of it if it comes to me buying the boat.....

If it was me I would eat, sleep, live next to her, just to see how long before she's ready to take out on the water...lol

Vasfontein, 45mins drive, R50 bucks, five hours, fish = zero. Last 6 trips.

Roodeplaat, 10mins drive, R20 bucks, 1 and 1/2 hours, fish = 30+. last 10 trips.

Now where................................. will I be going to this weekend? and every other weekend that I don't feel like driving far? I wonder
