been checking the sard hotline and blogs on the other site. Havent heard of too much heavy action. Although A friend of mine is up at Mpande now, which is just south of PSJ, and he says there are some shoals around and some nice activity, but nothing out of the norm. We are leaving in 10 days for a 2 week trip to Mgazanna, hopefully they around! Planning on doing some spearing. Last year we were there I dived, but was a little sceptical of venturing off the deep water points as noone in the party speared with me. Still managed a nice garrick and the rockcod in my avatar. Will see what happens this year!!

Four of us are heading up to HITW for 10 days in early July.Hopefully there is still some lagging shoals.The sards only hit the south of KZN last year well into August !

No real news as I havnt been down all year, and wont for a while still as baby due in 3 weeks.
last report from my brother was that the shad were thick at mdumbi. locals collecting grain bags full each. Unfortunately the 4pppd does not apply to the masses, and I would like to see the MCM guys do anythign about it. such is africa.
the seas were upa bit so no diving but out deep they got nice fish, incl the new sa record 25.5kg brown rockcod. previous record was 14. its a beast.
whilst out here a shoal of dorado popped up in greenwater. they got 1 of about 5kgs on a spoon and one guy bailed with his gun. vis want great and they stayed around just out of vis. and popped in for a secong and gone again. they only cuaght the 1 as he was hunting them.
late june july is a great time down there for diving. after the big fronts you usually get a few days of calm weather. the front bring the clean water as well. the geelbek are usually around (normally int he 40m area but friends have had a few great days behind the pinnacles at HITW hunting them up to 8kgs in clean water. the problem being the grey steenbras also wanted to share. leerie are usually plentiful then and the pompano are often around. i lost one of about 10+kgs a few years back and a mate has shot a few up to 16kgs off HITW. I lot will depend on what happens int he next few weeks weather wise, re sards, swell etc.
I will do a diving area chart today if I can.

That will be great Tkei,haven't dived there for 6 years so really looking forward to it.
