Hi Guys can you maybe suggest a time that will suit you, then we can maybe plan from there. Will like to get this of the ground. Might have to cancel a trip depending when this will go down.

One of them might have to be cancelled depending on when you guys want to go. Jozini will take first priority with me, got a score to settle with those tigers.
What do you guys prefer weekend, long weekend etc.

Agree.Ryan did you catch most of those tigers in the shallow water(reeds,grass)?Do you have an idea when you guys will be going?If my crue chickens out i have space on my boat because im AM going (wife and kid going to skoonma).

When the river comes down Brown you can write the fishing off for Jozini.

Mid october is Boderline. November is suicide.

I have been looking At the weekend of the 27th April 08. 27 is a friday (public holiday) and the 1 May is Wekers day - cause we all wekers.

This way you get almost a week of fishing in with out taking a whole herd of leave to do so.

Anyways I is still keen.

Ryan ain't gonna argue with you about that, seing that you know how. So either October or else next year.After my last and also first experience will rather take your word for it. How do the other guys feel about April/May, this place is lovely and the family will also enjoy Jozini. I am in for this period. Know it is a bit lomg to wait but fishing for a week I'll love it.

Ryan has got the gaff! April and early May are the best at Jozini. Here's a secret: 2/0 salmon hooks, snelled with a 10cm piece of black/red nylon coated wire, tied Mickey fin colours with a gold mylar body. Use an inline trolling weight of about an ounce, positioned +-5m ahead and pull along weedbeds. We experienced the best hookup rates with this rig +-9/10 compared to +-3/10 with rapalas with trebles.

I swear by this spot....I hooked 2 MONSTER fish here on chicken hearts aswell as about 6 other small fish about a month ago....

We anchored in the bay and cast towards the dead tree where the cows always come down to drink...

Just Be careful for all the underwater structures...... they love eating huge tiger fish

And the water was cold.....and the weather was rubbish....so im looking forward to going back there and seeing what that spot has to offer under fairer conditions

hi all1
could anyone give me some tips on tigerfishing in deeper dam water with liveys? the float method does not seem to be working for me.
do I rig it same as i would with barbel fishing?
any advice would be apreciated!

Stinger hook. Small sliding weight about steel trace and some say a little bead helps. It works well especially when drifting. Beware of the kurper wrapping u up! If he starts getting excited he is either about to be chowed or get into structure. If u can't get livies a copper spoon with a red tag is deadly u can cover loads or water its semi weedless (put on a single hook) and fish it fast
