Does anybody know what attractant to use on Tigerfish bait?
I know there is a lot of stories -but WHAT DOES REALLY WORK?

Weet enige iemand wat kan jy op jou aas sit/spuit of verf om die tiervis beter te lok?

Ek weet daar is baie stories maar ek wil weet -WAT WERK REGTIG?

I am talking about driftbait
Not what to drift but what to put on the Bulldog /Bream or tigerfillet.....

Just add a bit of Cold Tafel or Cold Castle:beer .
Just kidding, I tried garlick Bass stuff a couple of years ago and it really made no difference. I think the more natural the better. As long as the bait (Bulldog/Bream/Fillet) is fresh and the water is warm enough and there is fish in the vicinity I see no reason why they wont bite? I will get crusified for my next statement, but you can scent your lure/Spinner with Fish fillet or cutlet if you do catch with lures but try and keep it all natural like I said. I havent been taking lures down to the River and have had great success for a long time now.
What have u tried in terms of baits/attractants?
Do you also fish on the Zambezi?
Do you mind telling me about the stories (of the attractants that is...)

Hi Tiger...
Sorry for the poor english but here goes.......
Thanks for the reply and yes I had the same result during december on driftbait. The fresher the better.
The bass garlic does not work and there are rumours that you can use some type of attractant that will work.

Some people believe in WD-40 ,but after reading a bit on the net -they said that it does not contain any fish oil or what so ever.
We used small whole breams untill we could land a decent tiger to fillet and then it went way better.

I know for shure that some guys do use something but i think it is one of fishing's best kept secrets

I try to get to the Kavango more often and get to the Zambezi at least once a year at Katima .

Hi Ezli,

We are going to Katima for Tigers (Kaliso Lodge) from 5 to 13 March. You say you go there often. Can I ask you what strategy we must have this time of the year and if it is a good time for tigers in general? This will be our first time in upper Zambesi and we are just nervous of the high water levels. We have fished Cahora many times before. Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

Fishing was hard as there is just too much water. I am a bit disappointed that nobody warned us that this is not a good time to go... Even the lodge owners, but I supposed they're not gonna tell you otherwise they'll have no guests other than in Sept...
