This morning I went fishing with Piet at short pier. He told me that he just lost some big kingies. I grabbed my heavy tackle (only 4kg) and sprinted for the pier.
Wow!!! First cast I got attacked by a snoek. Second cast bitten off!! After that I had strikes from kings and snoek almost every cast. I decided to go big and casted one of my ecogear power shad dropshots. Second cast the line tightened, slowed down and then stopped dead. Felt like I hook into a dolos, but out deep and right on the surface the line was moving sideways. I gave it a jerk and WHAM!!! Off she went, took most of my 4kg line in about 15 seconds. Managed to stop it from taking all of it, but same time pulled the jig out of her mouth...AHHHH NUTS!!! (and many many other words I never knew off)
But the fun continued when shortly after I hooked into this here nice greenspot that weighed in 4kg on the dot!! Happy to report she is out there to be caught another day.
