Ok it lookks like all the help you guys gave is finally paying oof. Got my first barracuda of approx 40cm on a plug which I had changed the hook and didnt strike.
Use 2 split rings to join the hook to the lure. By doing this the fish cannot use the weight of the lure to throw it. Try it and then take the lure by the hook and shake it from side to side. The second split ring reall ybreaks the momentum of the lure.
