As most of you already know, offering on-the-water classes on how to use your fish finder / GPS is a big part of FishTec. I have had customers from southern Africa as well as a few overseas students attend these courses, and have had some great feedback.
But one thing that has been a problem all along is boat layout.
So I wrote down a list of requirements keeping training and demo’s as the number one application for the craft:
1. Space (21ft)
2. Stable (2.4m)
3. Easy movement around craft
4. Large, multi display centre console
5. Wet deck for Cat D COF
6. Motors – main, iPilot and auxiliary
And the only boat I could come up with is something like the Triton and Skeeter range of LTS boats, or Light Tackle Series boats.
One problem, I don’t have +R700 000.00 lying around to just go out and buy one. So it was back to the drawing board – The Plan: Find a 21ft bass boat hull and convert it to a LTS boat.
And so the project begins:-
