On Thursday myself and my mate fished at Bass lake.
There were plenty bass to be seen, including some monsters. But none seem interested.
Eventually we fished with brush hogs (Texas rig) and bounced them on the bottom and we caught about 10 fish each, everything under 1kg.
Bass lake is a really nice venue, how ever, I think its to expensive
You can also hire canoe type boats there now at R25/h
Today we went to Murry park in springs, There is plenty grass in the water now (more than there ever has been before, for the guys that have been there)
We fished from about 7 till 10 and I got one +-500grams on a horny toad.
Then we went to bloupan dam near kempton. We got there to only find out its closed on a monday, we drove around to the back end of the dam, and snuck in through the fence. Fishing used to be really good there, but i hadnt fished there since the fuel spillage, We fished there for about about a hour, with nothing touching whatever we threw out.
We then left there and went to Homestead Dam. First cast was with a spinner bait, and caught one of about 1kg. Every second cast we had, we caught one of about 500grams to 1kg. Fishing was really good, then it started raining and the fish went totally off the bite.
Just thought I'd share my recent fishing outings with everyone.
I will post pics soon.
Cheers
Damien
