The last few days

On Thursday myself and my mate fished at Bass lake.

There were plenty bass to be seen, including some monsters. But none seem interested.

Eventually we fished with brush hogs (Texas rig) and bounced them on the bottom and we caught about 10 fish each, everything under 1kg.

Bass lake is a really nice venue, how ever, I think its to expensive
You can also hire canoe type boats there now at R25/h

Today we went to Murry park in springs, There is plenty grass in the water now (more than there ever has been before, for the guys that have been there)

We fished from about 7 till 10 and I got one +-500grams on a horny toad.
Then we went to bloupan dam near kempton. We got there to only find out its closed on a monday, we drove around to the back end of the dam, and snuck in through the fence. Fishing used to be really good there, but i hadnt fished there since the fuel spillage, We fished there for about about a hour, with nothing touching whatever we threw out.

We then left there and went to Homestead Dam. First cast was with a spinner bait, and caught one of about 1kg. Every second cast we had, we caught one of about 500grams to 1kg. Fishing was really good, then it started raining and the fish went totally off the bite.

Just thought I'd share my recent fishing outings with everyone.

I will post pics soon.

Cheers
Damien

Geeeeeeeezzz, so many venues in so few days and you got fish at most of them...... great report there bud.  Bass lake expensive? yeah i too think it's a tad expensive but then again with the posibility of landing something huge over 5kg's is still a whole lot cheaper than driving to one of MAN's ponds in pongola or to Zim or Swazi's renowned monster homes......

Bud Bass lake delivered some serious cathes last time we where there, as the kids that fished on the thurs and the fri showed me about twelve pics of fish well over the 2.5 kg mark with the biggest a 5.5 caught on thursday, vc's PB is a 4.1 from bass lake so yeah they might not be Mteri style ito a munsta / cast but they do come out regurlarly, oh my PB a 2.26 i also from there.

There's some places bud, but not many are known, which ones have you fished in PTA,? I'll be able to tell you about the ones that you might not know about.....  so lemme know?

Sorry didnt mean to offend you about bass lake, i just think there should be more big ones coming out of there.

To be honest, I havent fished any waters in PTA, So any dams that ill be able to catch from the side would be appreciated.

Has anyone heard of "bass-o-mania" near bronkhorspruit? is it still open? and does anyone have directions.

This place also looks nice http://www.rustyhook.co.za/ .... pitty about what you have to pay to fish there

Elapid, no probs bud I'm not offended, remember I'm the Official Sealine :clow, and therefor are really nuts and very placid.

Also think that it would be nice if more of the bigger ones could be caught more often, but then again, in clear water like that it might not happens as much as in stained/dirty water.......

Anyhows all the places that I know of thats in PTA and then some others are there, with directions and some info on the venues so be sure to go check it out.
