we fished Last Leagu forthe year and decided to stay over the friday as i did not want to getup at 2 am for on days fishing.. Every one sai we shoud use TCp and Spirits(Paint) this did work but only for a while..

tried various combinations and at the end .. dynamite TCP on the ball with khakibos(like a has been ) on the dought that was pressed in the ball My biggest trick was do get the ball to disoolve quick to get the fish to feed .. Caugt 4 fish 4.190 Kg .. fishing was tough i suspect we did 3rd on the zone..

Dagga Team did well as well as delmas to our right.. My casting was better following the advice from the wild expo discussion with the super cast guys.. What was worrying was that even though i did not do too bad the guys left and righ from use was getting double the fish we got..

they were going more or less the same distance .. but was doing something different.. and i am not sure what that was .. so the question is .. how do you get from where i am to where they are  .. is it bait or technique.. mmm

Summary.. we sat on the competition side left sloop and cast about 80 meters used dynamite peach and paint .. sweet dough in the ball and some khakibos.. (hasbeen) sliding rietvlei.. Will go there again but will not do a day trip the 35 km gravel road is not worth a day trip..

Any questions please ask..

How to get better. Fish more often, you just cannot buy experience. The more you fish the better your rythm and 6th sense in terms of understanding what the fish are going to be doing.

Sometimes guys will double you by just letting their baits lay 15 minutes longer than you are. The schools are under more pressure and with way more baits onthe same line they take longer to get to your baits.

Spoke to Smitty from Dagga, they worked on 90minutes turn around time ie they only changed the one rod on 90 minutes and the other they worked the are on 40 minutes turn around.

gertus, are you still using the skelm hooks? Size of the bait does matter. Smaller usually catch more.

Oh .. what zone did they sit ?

Will ask him tomorrow.

Winter and with fish averaging under 2kg's your pickup will be even better if you fish 0.8 and if the muddies are there then go to 0.5.

It's all about the points and if the fish are 1 hour apart or more you got plenty time to land each one.
