Well met LGF :)

Yea, last time I was at the Plaat, it was a sad sight to see the stuff floating there. Does the spraying really help and/or control them?
Doesn't the dead plant matter at the bottom then affect the health of the fish species?

LGF Long time no smell my undercover brother..............

Good to see you still visit us from time to time thought your days of lGF huntin had come to an end - thought maybe the Salties had wrecked you at the Sealine social last month.......LOL

Smell me is just about right, haven't fished since December last year, and it's getting to me........ hopefully this week coming I'll regain my sanity, at least three times (now thats if I'm not working still)....

Hey the social was great, was nice meeting the faces behind the nicks, but alas they don't have da power to convert me from LGF huntin....

The spraying helped the last time, and the fish didn't disappear, in fact, soon after the water cleared I had some of my best bassin at the plaat, recalling three trips with the 1st seeing us land 33 in 1 and 1/2 hours and the next two 32 and 45 respsectively for the entire day, so I don't think they get affected by the poison all that much.  The sudden (although not all that sudden) change ito the hyacinth that provided cover, I suspect has a bigger impact on them than the poison.

LGF thanks for the info. Great to hear that the fishies's not affected by them poisons.
Can't wait for those lillies-on-steroids to clear up some more, I really would love to go and try out the Plaat.

U R :welk1Vern, yes I thought of hitting the plaat at least once in the coming week, but it looks like it might stand over for yet another week, but then again by then them steroided-lillies will be even less (I hope) anyhows, Buffelspoort is also on the list for the same 1st week that I'm Off.....

In the mean time you could always go check out venues like Thulani, Vasfonteina and Struben Dam in Menlyn, although the latter might prove to be bassless as the water is always muddy brown and getting bass takes alot of work and blanking there well sorta reminds me of how roodeplaat used to treat us time and time again when we were still pap-gooi-ing there.
