Tackle shops around Gauteng

Hi Guys. Awesome site.

 

I am a born and bred pap gooier with some luck offshore. Only recently I got hooked on Bass but I am a complete saltwater dropshot beginner. We are going to Inhaca for a few days and from what I can gather from the posts it is a good dropshot spot, so I can’t miss the opportunity. I have gathered a LOT of info from these forums (and I thank you for that), I basically know what to shop for. BUT where?  Please let me know your favorite shops and if you can recommend any good salesman (not looking to make a quick buck) around the Gauteng /Pretoria area?

 

Also, any place names around Inhaca that I can ask the locals to take me too?

 

I will close with an idiot question: Will it be a good idea to take my freshwater bass rods+reels to try it out first. I don’t want to be put off and be disappointed and only find out I used the wrong tackle. Any thoughts?

Western Acessories, either Boksburg or Krugersdorp branch.
Good stock, better prices and friendly service.

I agree, if you live in Pretoria, check out all those mentioned. We have some realy good first class tackle shops in Pretoria. Sure you are aware.

It would be unfair to single out any specific one, shop around, talk a deal - and see where you can get the best prices, friendliest service, advice, support, and the best coffee.

Sometimes what you win on the swings you will lose on the round-abouts.

Important perhaps, the better the shop gets to know you the better the prices will become.

Thanks guys, I appreciate all the help. I am looking forward to my trip and all I can think about at work right now is a couple of kingie's on my new dropshots.

It turns out Solly's is just around the corner from me, I am going there this afternoon, budget: +-R1500. Thanks bass52.

randburg mias, noone supports them but they been around a hell of alot longer than fourways and woodmead and have alot of knowledge on there products, shops a mess but i wont buy anywhere else, tell them peter with the snakes sent you they will sort you out
