Hi Guys.

I was thinking over the weekend of all of the tackel shops in my area and i have heard about alot of them in and around the vall triangle area, but nowhere can i get the number or addresses of them.

Can we create a data base of these shops in gauteng, free state, ect ect? or does anybody have such a data base?

Cause i know i like to explore new tackel shops and see what they have other that the normal old western accesories and mias.

Hi guys

Seeing as nobody has such a database i have taken the liberty to make one up.

If you have any new stores in the area or any ones that i have missed please feel free to add them to this thread.

Went to Flora Center and there is a tackle shop no more. Any idea where they moved to? Centre staff says "somewhere on Ontdekkers". That's a bit like saying "definitely somewhere in South Africa".

<rant on> I can't believe in this day and age that you move your shop and then not put up a sign saying where you are off to. <rant off>

If you travel from Flora towards Westgate you will find it in a little centre on the left about 2km down (before florida junction)

They've moved to somewhere in Witpoortjie.  Speak to Ben @ Ben's Corner...he'll be able to give you the address. 0116731510

The shop they are reffering to is Anglers Paradise that was situated inside Flora centre. They just 2 km down the road. Ben from Bens corner opened another shop in Witpoortjie, Run by his son.

is this the same Ben that is in Newlands, near the shoprite. there is also another shop on goldman, if you travel westwards on goldman after Kentucky & just before the school on the left.

there was a sign but it can only stay on for so long. I think they moved out when the renovations started.

Hi guys,

Went to Ben's corner for the first time yesterday after looking around for a tackle shop that stocks big daddy baits. He is such a helpful owner and has good prices.

Try him out if you looking for a tackle shop in JHB.

Address: 125 Main Road, Newlands, Gauteng

Just a heads up guys, MIAS Woodmead don't honor the warranty on rods. I speak from personal experience.

Needless to say I don't drop my cash with them any longer.

I have always had excellent service and its always good to ask upfront what each brands warranties are as MIAS can only honour what the manufacturer is willing to honour.

as you might know different brands and different prices come with different warranties:)

MIAS is great & friendly when you are BUYING not when it comes to a problem. I have asked about back up in the past and the sales pitch is "no quibble, bring it back and we replace it, we value your business" etc etc when in reality that isn't the case.

Just think its fair for potential buyers to know so they make an informed decision when making their next purchase.

Check out Hellopeter, seems others are not happy either.
