Any advice on spots within 1nm from oceana slip.

Waters are cold that side so probably the reefs do not hold much fish, I used to snorkel the sea point reefs a lot and all we saw was hotties and galjoen, mainly hotties... The pelagics will move through if their water or bait does so that all depends on winds and season. There wont be spots or anything like that then, it will just be finding them at right spot right time on bait. Sterrentjies are your best friends. But your options are very limited 1nm from shore launching from table bay, though I am speculating.

Sewerage spills from Camps Bay outlet?! LOL...
There are if I am not mistaken, 3 or 4 or more sewerage pump stations between the waterfront and camps bay, the outflows a few hundred meters out and all at about 20- 30m depth, back in the day we'd snorkel the area extensively and I can assure you the pipes are not fully intact either..
They collectively pump out 30 to 50 MILLION litres a day of untreated sewerage every day, well treated in that the large sanitary pads are strained out and go through a macerator, there used to be so many tampons and condoms floating out in the sea point line ups that I don't think the filter has a mesh smaller than that.
There are no "frequent spills", its more like olympic sized swimming pools of poo are pumped out untreated straight into the ocean off blue flag beaches every day, day in and day out, as normal occurance LOL and right off africas most expensive properties. Africa. LOL. Go DA! wahoo! You only hear mention of sewerage spills when the wind is onshore, but make no mistake, it's no spill but just that the direction of the 24/7/365 current of poo has changed because the wind has changed direction.
I remember for the first time reading out this in government reports in the early 2000's and thinking wow that's backward and assuming things were going to change. It is now 20 years later and nothing has changed except the population has exploded so the amount of poo has doubled. The entire atlantic sea board south of town as far as I know there are no pipes connecting it to the southern suburbs or west coast sewerage works, it just gets pumped out to sea, pharmaceuticals, condoms, e coli and all. and the city pumps the poo out into MPA's which I think is illegal too but hey this is Africa and the mother city oooh aaaahhh...everyone blind to the poo on their doorstep. Flase bay not much better as every working estuary on that coast barring sandvlei (which suffers from spillls all the time) has been turned into a sewerage works and outflow..cape town waters are pretty sif both sides...
If the wind is onshore, the brown foam whipped up is not from rotting kelp as we used to assume when I stayed and surfed there.
Echo not eating any reef fish caught there, as well mackerel..Though when the nice water is on that side, you could probably catch excellent live bait like mackies by the million around those outflows if you can find them by the poo plumes, and then find their predators that be looking for them...I'd only eat a pelagic caught in that area, and defineatly NOT any smoked mackerels! Knowing what mackerels love to eat!

And they have not been doing it for 30 years as the article states, but as far as I know they been doing it since the 1920's. The second picture above you can literally see the poo being washed into surf zone at camps bay/oudekraal. I been saying on here that CT water is sif..this is why..nothing done in all these years boggles my mind..Its all image and no substance with the leaders..I've gotten so ill from that water, twice, that one time I thought I was going to die, other time I nearly did die! I got quarantined in an entire cleared out wing of Gardens mediclinic when I was in my late 20's because they thought I had picked up ebola or some other flesh eating disease, but it turned out it was a really virulent thrush co-infection, with TB, that I picked up surfing off thermos. I nearly died, I came sooo close.. True story.. Cape town water, sea or river or estaury, is disgusting..
