Stripped Backline

A few days ago i took the lity out fishing( teaching him the do's and dont's about fishing with a 'pen reel')

I sailed out my 7oz grap. Made a cable trace( two 10's kendal rounds). Pinned a shad head and swam it out and left on rod stand.

Was busy instructing the lity and let him learn a bit by himself. Netherless to say it was blistering hot and i had a plan:spite. Craked a beer and just relaxed watching him. Was half way through the 6 pack and bordem setting in when my reel began screaming for dear life. The adrenalin immediately kicked in and by the time i shifted into gear and got up from the sand i had been stripped off all my top shot and well into my braid. :cens (thanks there REEFMAN - the knot was strong enough to withstand this punishment (bimini twist with cats paw))

After i got a handle on the situation and looked at which angle my line was going, it was obvious this idiot with a jet ski was peeling me off. All i could do was put the brakes on and hope. It cost me my whole trace( 7oz grap, slide, cable trace), 55lb leader, and grazed about 300m of GA 40lb line. :cens:cens:cens:cens:cens

I was pissed. Never got to give him a piece of my mind.:(

Anyway i soon called it a day to replace my top shot.

These guys are truely selfish. What makes it worst, you gotta keep an eye out for boats too.

There are some very considerate guys but most just don't care. They strip you out.

Have to keep a constant eye out.
