stolen jetskis

is there any national data base where jet ski's are registered ?? something like car and bike registrations or something??

if someone stole brand new jetskis - never owned by anyone before, and sold them, is there anywhere that someone , who may have bought them not knowing they are stolen, would have to register their engine or serial numbers anywhere??

The SAPS has a data base where all stolen items with serial no are captured as far as I know.

This system is similar to the one they use to circulate stolen moter vehicles and trailers exct.

If it was on a trailer the trailers vin no  should be circulated and the serial no of the craft. Come to think of thjere should be a section where water carft can be circulated.

Its been a long time since I worked with it just can not remember Atlzheimers you know

 

Where are all the cops on Sealine they can shed some light on this

thanks for the comments - nothing has been reported stolen yet.
i was hoping some sort of register exists where one can check legitimately registered ski's to see whether any were registered unknowingly, having previously been stolen.
