Just finished some prototype made from plastic , going to make a new mold once I get the weighting right . The mold I made is a pain in the arse to put the wire into and I wasted a dozen ss wires . Making these stickbaits out of wood is too time consuming and it is difficult to get them all identical and thats why I will make these from plastic . I am not happy with the parting lines on this mold also so now I have to get more RTV , and its pricy $$$$$

They are 9 inch long and weight around 4 1/2 ounce they are weighted up front of the hook hanger and they sink nose slightly down. Once I get them just right I will make a new mold and a wire form . I also have a few different types of plastics one floats without micro balloons and is light and the other sinks like a stone if you don't add micro balloons . Getting the ratio of plastic to micro balloons is a challenge , but making these out of wood is also a challenge .

i find using wood is easier to get the weight/ ballast right , the holes are easier to fill etc plastic is a bitch comes with its own set of problems .

Placing the weight in wood is definitely easier , it's shaping these out of wood thats a pain in the butt . Reason being that it cant be done on the lathe because off the shape it has to be done by hand .
