Steel Strand - Snell Knot

The snell knot is proberly the best knot to use for attaching circle hook to steel strand.

A great tip is to use a section of heat shrink on the shaft of the hook. This allows the steel a better grip on the hook shank and when the steel bites into the shrink is makes the knot super tight.
