not sure about the saltist, but my sl50 had felt washers... Fine in the beginning but after a while the drag starts slipping. They can get damaged by leaving your drag tight when storing

carbontex cant be compressed and has good heat distribution. Stays smooooooth

Carbontex gives a consistent/smooth drag even at high temperatue during a long fight. They also last longer than most washers.
Worthwhile for sharks and big game fish but for eds I wouldn't think you'd ever notice the advantages.

My Saltist 30 came with carbontex so maybe you've got them already. The standard washers in the old Saltist weren't that bad, many a big shark has been landed on them.

Many of the standard drags work well under low pressure but after usage and some heavy fishing they become snatchy loose torque and create unwanted situations with lighter line fishing and class fish.

Carbontex remains smooth even under the heaviest of leads will not fade nor snatch and gives a baby bottom smooth drag all the time if fited correctly.

I fitted a set your reel i rememeber a 40 i think it was you should feel the difference on fish and on reeling in too. lso it will last and lastt and last unlike those new brake material ones i removed. the new BG ones come with them standard with the exception of the one thrust washer below the main gear the rest are carbonfibre,
