Spooling / de-spooling devive

When spooling a reel with new line it is always a mission to remove the old line, or simply wanting to turn your line around on a reel.

I use a variable speed drilling machine with an adjustable shaft for this. Keep the old empty line spools you have, because 2 is required when wanting to turn round the excisting line.

Simply install the shaft in the drill chuck and place the empty spool between the adjustable cones.  set the drill to it's slowest speed. Wind the line onto the empty spool to remove from reel. Remove spool from shaft. When wanting to turn line round -- simply place other empty spool on shaft  and wind onto  that. Once that is done rewind onto fishing reel.

Hi Simen,

Thats a nice device - I have made something similar which allows for the fitment of a 2lt coke bottle onto a variable speed drill.

Basically it is an aluminum cap with a drill bit section that replaces the coke bottle cap and allows for fast and easy removal of line when I have to change weight categories for various comps.

Cheers

Weedeater helped me this weekend past, to respool my saltiga (thanks Brendan!!!!!). He and his friend have also built a machine. Worked wonderfully. Easy to operate.....no electricity / battery power required.

Perhaps he can take some photos and upload them
