Hi guys I need some advice please.
When spooling braid on as backing, do you guys put something like insulation tape on the spool first, to keep the braid from slipping on the spool???

the glue on insulation tape is a b!@#!! to get off the spool after a while, if you ever decide to strip the line off and clean up. i put about 10 turns of 60lb or 80lb mono on first. you going to get people telling you its not nessesary, but rather safe than sorry.

ive had braid slip on me once on a smallish grinder. since then i dont take a chance. rather safe than sorry. just take 5m of the leader that you going to use on the reel, and put it on. what can it hurt?

1 layer of insulation tape. Tie a bimini in the Braid and then using the 3 legs make use of an arbor knot to secure the braid.

Make sure there is about a 3cm tag end on the arbor knot and lay that flat and wind the first layer of braid over the tag end (now it's doubled locked and securely fastened)
