Im not a grinder person at all, but, i think it is a great idea here.

Bought a brand new secondhand Daiwa Saltist 4500H from someone and upon inspecting the reel found that it was very tight when reeling. Loosened the handle lock screw and found that it was way better but then would tighten up again as you keep reeling...
We removed the handle lock screw and found that it has some plastic washer/spacer thingy that gave way, possibly due to over tightening.... This caused the edge of the lock screw to tighten up against the body of the reel and caused the difficult winding.
Nonetheless it was a great price and looked like an easy fix so I bought the reel.
I broke out the damaged plastic spacer and replaced it with a piece of 2mm rubber I chopped to size with scissors and it worked like a charm.

I did a quick repair here to see if it worked...which it did! I will when I have more time do a better job as it wasn't easy chopping the rubber with those small scissors I used...

had the pleasure of stripping and cleaning a shimmy sustain ci14 5000.
the anti reverse bearing is situated just underneath the rotor.
any salt water in there will cause the bearing to fail as one can only strip the reel with a 0,5mm allen key to clean the bearing after getting to it.

how many of us sit with a 0.5mm allen key to strip?
