I am going to Kob Inn Resort in the Transkei for about a week. I have never been here before, so i don't know what to expect. We are actually going fishing, but i want to know if one can dive there. Can anyone help me out??
Thanks for the link Capespearo. I will be trying to dive from shore, so the boat article didn't quite help that much, but gave me a more or less idea what to expect and what fish are around. Much appreciated!
Kaalvoet their is a small Blinder/ line of rocks protruding out the water a few hundred meters to the left of the hotel. The white water on the land side of the blinder is very good for all kinds of fish especialy Cracker. Sea needs to be flat as you need to get realy close to the rocks to get into the action.
Just be careful on the entry the rocks are like soap they so slippery.
Slightly to the right of the blinder (about a 100m) their is reef from about 5m out to about 13 m, only got a few Knife jaws and Bronzies on that section.
If the sea is realy flat you can hug the rocks from the mouth and work your way towards the hotel. Produces Cracker and Garrick.
Conditions though are more fickle than further north but definately worth taking your gear
Thanks for the info Adrian B. Lots of positive feedback, just what i wanted to hear. My friend send me a image of what it looks like in-front of the house. Is this the place you talking about?
Yip that's it. Doesn't look like much but holds at lot of fish at times. Seaward side drops straight onto sand. Inside edge right up agains the rocks in the white water is where the action is
