Hi guys, I sold the jetski and is now looking for a boat.  BIG question, centre / forward console and why?

I found a sodwana cat 16"  f/c with 2 x 50 Mercury motors.  One owner since new (2011).  Went to sea about 4 times and 5 times on a local dam.  Full safety equipment, radio etc. no fish finder or gps.

R146 000, is it a good price?  Anything else I might have a look at that is basically brand new?:beer:beer

CC = Wet
FC = Dry

CC are good if you plan on doing loads of lure angling - spinning, but it isn't necessary if you are not that big into it. As to fishing around the boat, well if you have a small boat 16-21', a skipper can manoeuvre / chase a fish. Hit one motor forward the other aft and the boat spins around.

My gripe with small CC's is that they can become unsocial when trolling. CC boats do handle well, but also only if they are built/and balanced properly.

If you intend on trolling a lot, FC is the best option without a doubt. All the crew is by the rods rather than trying to scramble from the front.

FC's are by far more comfortable and social especially for the crew.

thanks Bennie

I think the deal is sealed.  I mostly fish in KZN and Transkei.  Lots of surf launch.  FC will be the road I take.
